Now that Tiegan’s a little older (almost 26 months!), she’s developing taste for certain things. It’s so fun to learn what she likes & dislikes. Takes a lot of the guesswork out of being a parent. Her next birthday will be jam-packed with her favorite things. I thought since many of my friends have children right around the same age, I’d share what we’ve been into lately… and things I’d love to add to our collection!

Charlie & Lola. I’ve thought this was a cute cartoon ever since we first got the Noggin channel – before Tiegan even knew what a TV was. Luckily she’s caught on. There are great lessons and cute characters in this show. And who doesn’t think children’s English accents are just the best? We don’t have any Charlie & Lola books yet but I think we’ll wait for a special occasion. She’ll be pleasantly surprised. She LOVES reading.

Socks. Grown-up socks, preferably with funky shapes/colors, which are in abundance in Mommy’s dresser! We could have sock-puppet conversations and funny-face-making competitions for hours. I’m looking for some great sock-puppet crafts, so any & all ideas are welcome. (Thank goodness that creativity is still alive in some people – I hate those toys that “do it all” while you sit back & watch!). She loves to pull my socks all the way up to her shoulder and hiss at me like a snake.

Toy Money / Shopping. Oh, we looooove to pretend we’re shopping. She will take her grocery cart all around the living room, picking up random things. At Gram & Boppy’s house, she’ll pick up Clark’s blocks and pretend each one is a different grocery item. What an imagination. What I love most is her little attitude, just like my mom. “We’ll take some of this… oh, but NOT that… and some of this…”

Cleaning & Vacuuming. I love this. She is such a helper when it comes to laundry, vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting. And I don’t mean “helper” as in she likes to pretend to help. She REALLY likes to help, and is really good at it. She loads wet clothes into the dryer for me and shuts the door. She uses the lightweight vacuum at my studio and actually does a great job. She wipes down the table when she’s done eating – voluntarily. She dusts like a mad woman. She has a “Just Like Home” cleaning kit, including a toy vacuum, and I think she’s already caught on that the vacuum doesn’t really work.

OK, that will be the end of my show & tell for the day. I thought she was going to settle down for a nap, but apparently she only needed a quick refresher because now she’s up asking to go for a walk. I suppose we’ll try to enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. Have a great weekend. :)
